Glass beer bottle blow sounding like the background "whoo" effect in the movies alien and blade runner. Mono. Old school spot effect. Helmholtz resonance using a partially-filled (for pitch tuning) glass beer bottle. The resulting tone was sampled, bandpass filtered, pitch bent and laid over a copy of the original sample. Reverb added post-effect to push the sound back and smooth out some nasty quantizing artefacts caused by the pitch bender.

This sample is part of the icefield-library. I used a pair of soundman okm2 mics as contact microphones which i fixed to the surface of a frozen lake, then recorded the sounds made by throwing or skimming several stones and pebbles across the ice. Wonderful effects can also be achieved by filtering or timestretching the files.

Not gonna explain about this one much. Basicly i just made a simple patch on my virus c hardware synth which consists of 2 osc's (sine / saw), osc2 slightly detuned from the osc1. Fast pitch envelope on both osc's to get the "punch" part in the kick. Ran through virus's lowpass/bandpass filters, lowpass cutting from 100% to 0% with a speed of 1/4 beats to get a "filtering down" effect to the kick, bandpass rejecting slightly frequencies from a range of 400-600hz. Then i sampled it, many times and picked the best sample. Eq->distort->eq->distort million times and this is the result. Ofc i did some cutting and added some lowpass/bandpass filters with various mix levels @ some points and did some other shit also but basicly it's just eq & distort. Hf, its a decent kick but needs some fixing still since the punch is too separate from the bass.

A metallic pad with lfo weaving in and out in amplitude/filter. Includes some lfo modulation, so some peaks are longer than troughs and vise versa. Used in an experimental scene to symbolize birth. Recorded with a roland groovebox self-sample utility straight to wav, which is pretty good sounding. Though i've found this method results in reduced high frequencies.

This is a recording of very low frequency hum of a steel mill. The sample has been low pass filtered. The main frequency is about at 25hz. The sound was recorded some distance away of the steel mill area, where it mixed with other sounds as a constant hum, which could be felt in body too at certain spots.

Just joined. Here's my first submission :). Recorded a few samples of "voice horror", a friend and i were going to make a short film but it never panned out. Basically the sound is a "disembodied voice" recorded on some tech that the entity damaged the quality or something. Used several filters and a vocoder. The idea was to vocalize the first parts in a way that it would be hard to understand, having the viewer listen more closely, and build the fear with the audible phrase ". . . And now there's somebody living on the other side of the wall and i think he can see usssss".

Sound synthesis made from chuck programming language. The model is a connection from an impulse generator to 40 digital filters to 40 delay linesand set feedback between each delay lines. Each delay lines's delay time and cutoff frequency is random. But there was an error in the calculation and the output value overflows. And this create a chaotic behavior in this sample. - - -. This one is a smooth rising soundwith alternating digital aliasing resonances at the end.

This piece is a sound-sculpture of a weather effect commonly called the beast from the east in the uk. It is based on a longer piece by me called frozen kaos. This was constructed by me using only copywrite free sources of sounds, musical(ish) pieces and natural sounds. All of these were assembled and processed using the free software package audacity™. Most samples have been filtered, pitched, and manipulated vastly to make the basic foundation. On that base all the rest of the sounds were layer (over 200 different layers -- manipulated, mixed down, rebuilt, remixed, manipulated). I mostly work be happenstance and never take notes -- often what comes about is as much by chance as by design.

A suspenseful riser made from a wet mix of a rate-shifted bed frame being hitted and reversed after it has been "glued" or rendered as is, producing a deep, "mega-marvin" similar sample. A sample that was created from utilizing chromatic tones, stretching, reverb and the use of the wet/dry filtering to get the mix "just right". If you aren't aware of what the mega-marvin is. Mega-marvins are essentially instruments containing extremely heavy string, woodwind and varying density of materials that generate strong noises, trailing ambiances and brass-like sound qualities quite suited to the horror genre, generating a daunting and sorrowful sounds. Very fascinating stuff, look it up if you can - they're big and quite technical.

This is a small jam i recorded myself on my diy spring reverb circuit i've built for a friend. It sounds really good with music. In this session, i've only used coninuous triangle/sine/square waveforms and jammed on my for pots: input gain,hp filter cutoff, feedback amount, output gain. I'm sorry if the recording clips sometimes, but there's a big dynamic so i couldnt see how much loud it was. Feel free to take it and use it for sampling or sound design layering.

Made in ableton live. A slow firing heavy weapon. 19 layers were used to create this one. Eq was used to select different frequencies from various weapon samples and compressed together for the inital transient or pop. Time based fade in/out layering was used for the sustain and reverb tails so they fit nicely together. The single shot that was layered together was then printed as a new audio sample. I created a loop and pitched every shot by a few cents or 1 semitone to add variation. Each sample was then manually shifted on the timeline forward or backward by milliseconds to give a more realistic feel in timing rather than sound robotic. Each shot was sidechained to duck down in volume when a new shot triggers for more clarity. Mechanical trigger and bolt movement samples were add in before/after the initial transient of the shot. Shell hit floor samples were used for added detail. I felt the shots lacked a good sub bass so an eq was used to filter out the sub and replaced with a rapidly decaying 808 kick drums sub. Once the loop was formed, all shots were then grouped together and processed with a transient designer into a clipper, a compressor, a maximizer, ott multiband, gluing reverb, stereo spread and then into a final limiter. This is a remix of oceas 8th loop at 130bpm, the samples in this pack were made mostly by running the original loop through a custom plugin i made with synthedit. The general idea of the plugin is to seperate the incoming audio into 8 seperate channels using high-resonance bandpass filters, then run each of the 8 channels through its own special effect including reverb, delay, harmonic generation, ring modulation, modulation of the original signal by the harmonic generation signal out, and another reverb.

The 100% genuine and original htx sound in stereo :p. 3 merged samples featuring 21 group-panned notes with portamento and plenty dialed up effets like chorus, delay and reverb, everything except external panning, digial dc-filtering and volumeramps are comming straight out of the novation x-station. Rumor has it that the core of the original thx-sound actually was programmed in csound in case you want to recreate the original. A google search will give you the right pointer. Friday. Random. Why this madness? answer: i have patched s/h (sample and hold) random to doepfer a-160 clock divider and that affects the a-161. For the sake of it i patched one of the gates to the ladik r-110 rnd t/g (random trigger and gate). Result much more randomness than i can use. I can tell you that there is a lot of blinking diodes :-) sounds from doepfer a-110 and 2hp osc and sampler soundmachines ul1uloop.

Synthesized sound of a flying helicopter. The patter is as follows:. Each sound above is exactly 2 seconds long except the second-to-last sound (4 seconds long) and the last sound (8 seconds long). All sounds synthesized in propellerheads reason's thor polyphonic synthesizer. Here's how i did it: used two oscillators (one noise oscillator and another multiple-wave oscillator), and then passed them through two different filters. In each filter, i lfo'd the frequency knob at 2. 0hz (120bpm), and the pattern you see above is each oscillator-filter combination muted in different ways. For the last sound, i applied a phaser effect and automated the frequency knob or some other knob to give that pitch-up pitch-down effect.

This little distorted bass one-shot was made using a combination of sine-compression and filtering techniques in conjunction with reverse reverb/ bit-crushing. I also added a pitch fall near the end. Please feel free to use this however you like!. If you'd like to credit me somewhere that'd be great, but it's not a requirement. Comment down below where you used it as i'd love to hear!. Have fun!.

It becomes clear when i record with audacity and can actually see the attack and decay. I’m playing with alm pip slope. With this module you can cv control the attack and decay. As oscillator i use intellijel μvcf in self-oscillation mode. I fm-modulate this filter/oscillator with a tone from uoki-toki polivoks vcf. The semi random trigger is really two triggers connected to an or gate. Pitch is from analogue systems rs-40 (sample/hold and noise). I can listen to this for a looong time. Retro sound.
